Acknowledge who He is.

We have all felt betrayed by someone at some point in our life. Normally, it doesn’t hurt so much when a stranger does it, but when someone close to our heart is the one that betrays us, then, you feel shattered.

In moments like these, think of Jesus. He is the one who experienced everything that we could ever experience, but He was perfect and overcame even the hardest moments.

As I was reading Mark 14, the story about Jesus betrayal, I found myself highlighting ‘one of the twelve’. Yes, it was Judas, one from His inner circle of disciples, that betrayed Him.

In the next verses, the Bible says that he had given a sign to the soldiers, saying that ‘The one I will kiss is the man’. I began meditating on this phrase. Pay close attention to what Judas says. He said ‘is the man’. Sadly, that is all that Judas thought of Jesus.

So, Judas, the one that walked, ate, witnessed miracles done by Jesus, did not understand that Jesus is not just man, but God Himself. I’m not saying this is the emphasis of this passage, but Judas’ actions toward Jesus showed that he did not get it. He did not understand who Jesus was and did not treasure Him accordingly – he treasured more the 30 pieces of silver.

I have a clear conviction that whenever we don’t have a deep understanding of who God is, when we don’t put Him on high, is when we fall short. We hurt, sin against, even betray the ones around us.

I am writing this not because I have been betrayed by someone, but because I examined my life and I saw so many moments in which I didn’t show to others the love that I should show: the love that Jesus showed me and continues to show. Even if I set my mind and diligently try not to say something out of place or hurt someone…many times I do it.

So what can we do? How can we live a life in which we love God with all our heart and love our neighbours as ourselves?

I encourage you as I encourage myself daily (hehe) to run to His Word every morning and then to spend time in prayer, talking with God. Do not neglect your prayer time. Run to Jesus.

It is when you, a simple human, recognize that Jesus is not just a man, but the Son of God.

We broke up. Find out why.

It didn’t happen overnight.

It was hard to say goodbye.

It took time to find the right one, to replace the old one.

Before you start wondering what I’m talking about: I am talking about my hair, hehe. As I promised, this article is all about hair!

First, let me tell you my story…

If you don’t know me already, you need to be aware that I am, and always been, a little bit more than just obsessed with my hair. Long gone are the days when I was rocking a perfect straight bang and straighten my hair every day (thinking back makes me laugh so hard). My bang was like a trademark. Everyone that will talk about me will refer to me as: ‘the girl with straight bang’.

Fun fact: I was always caring a small comb with me just to be prepared in case my bang was not perfectly straight. Oh, my!

My hair has been through so many shocks and changes…

Just very recently I decided to adopt a more natural look and changed from platinum/silver blonde to a color that is closer to my natural one. I have always liked a healthy, natural look on a woman, not one that is fake and takes sooo much effort.

This drastic change was not it. I decided that I wanted more. I wanted to break out with the chemicals. FOREVER. I think it’s useless at this time for me to mention how many toxic ingredients and harmful chemicals we put in our hair on a daily basis.

So I made my research and found this awesome natural and organic products that I’m wholeheartedly recommending.

Yes, I have finally found natural hair products that work and that helped me to break out with the chemicals!

  1. Prose shampoo

What convinced me to try it:
  • They work with a certified ‘Prose’ stylist and create a unique customized formula based on your hair needs and goals and much more (what you want to achieve by using their products)
  • Organic and natural (which means that you will not add any harmful stuff to your hair like Parabens, Mineral Oils, GMOs, Sulfates, Phthalates etc.)
  • Awesome reviews from real people (they have a huge customer base)
  • Sustainably-sourced ingredients (eco-friendly)
  • You can select if you want a gluten-free, silicone- free formula or even fragrance free.
  • They thought about your hair in detail (I absolutely love when a company does that). Read the example below:

The Prose consultation takes into account your zip code – to give you ingredients to combat geo-aggressors like pollution, water quality and humidity – and your lifestyle habits like your stress levels, diet and workout preferences. – Prose online

Why I will continue to use it:
  • It matches perfectly my hair needs and goals
  • It does what it says
  • Molds perfectly with my values (sustainable/ethically made)
  • Affordable (starting at $25)

I personally didn’t reach the goal where I can say: ‘My hair is looking it’s best!’ after many changes that it went through, but I believe that once we decide to take this steps we will see major changes, a more healthier look and feel.

Healthy tips:

  • break out with chemicals and stop coloring your hair (if possible)
  • trim your hair (ends)
  • lower the use of hot tools
  • use clean beauty products on your hair like Prose shampoo

Wish you a great hair day!

3 nontoxic baby products your baby will love.

Disclaimer: not sponsored; honest personal opinions.

If you’re a mom like me and you’re looking for natural baby products that will protect, clean, and soothe your little one, you’re in the right place.

As moms, we know that loving and caring for our little babies is one of the biggest blessings God has given to us.

If you personally already switched to clean beauty, you will definetely want to pay attention what type of products you’re using on your baby skin. The baby’s new, fresh skin is not, and it should never be, ready to absorb/take in toxic ingredients.

So, without further ado, these are my 3 non toxic recommendations:

For the bath time

1. Earth Mama Sweet Orange Baby Wash

Before going to buy this product, more than trusting my word on it, you can make sure yourself from whom you’re buying. You can go to their site and read their 5 core beliefs:

  1. Do not harm
  2. Nature is our pharmacy
  3. Education empowers
  4. Honor the body’s ingenuity
  5. Mama needs one another

I was impressed with their dedication in producing organic, vegan, cruelty-free, non-GMO, clean products.

This baby wash is perfect for my baby’s gentle skin. I really like the formula because it’s like a cotton soft foam, with no artificial fragrance, Tricoslan, Phthalates, Parabens or Sulfates. I highly recommend it. And it’s perfect for mamas too.

2. Aura Cacia Clearing Eucalyptus Foam Bath

I always like to make Joellen’s bath time fun. She loves playing with foam but I was very skeptical in store when I was trying to decide what to buy. The shelves are full of fun looking, colorful bath foam products, but unfortunately most of them are so harmful for baby smooth skin.

With this foam bath you don’t have to worry. All the ingredients are natural and safe for your precious baby. The smell of Eucalyptus is soooo relaxing and makes every bath calming and soothing.

Another plus: the price. This foam bath is very affordable and one little package goes a long way.

After bath time

3. Everyone baby lotion

This is another great product that cures red skin and helps your baby sleep like an angel. I like to apply it after I bathe Joellen and she enjoys the calming chamomile and lavender natural aroma (synthetic fragrance free).

Everyone products are all plant based body cared products. Every bottle contains natural, organic, sustainable farmed-ingredients.

If you’re planning to buy some baby product in the near future, I hope that this article will help you. Even if you don’t buy this specific products, all the brands listed above are sustainable, organic brands. Your purchases can make a great difference to the people and nature around. Choose well.
